An overview of all anaerobic fungi network members is available in the form of a members directory (which is available to AFN members). However, in this section of the website you can read about several anaerobic fungi researchers in more detail.
Anaerobic fungi were first discovered by Professsor Colin Orpin. The ground-breaking research he conducted on the discovery and characterization of anaerobic fungi in the 1970s challenged the dogma of the time that all fungi respired. Prof Orpin is now enjoying his retirement, but you can read an interview with him and also his biography.
